Can You Renew Car Warranties
As more consumers are choosing to hang onto their cars a little longer before trading them in for a new model, the issue of renewing Car Warranties often arises. The fact is that many dealers do provide the option to renew certain types of warranties and even allow car owners to upgrade to warranty plans with additional coverage. While there are some limitations, maintaining the warranty even after the first few years is often a good idea.
In some cases, car warranties on vehicles purchased new from a dealer on hire purchase can be renewed every couple of years until the car is paid off. Even then, some dealers will provide some type of warranty coverage for as long as the original buyer owns the vehicle. It is not unusual for some sort of additional payment to be necessary as the car reaches a certain age or mileage. Fortunately, the cost is relatively low in comparison to the potential savings, making the deal well worth the time and effort.
When dealers will no longer extend car warranties owing to the age or mileage on certain models, there are independent providers that will offer warranty coverage for a price. Whilst many providers place limits on age and mileage, those limits are often considerably more liberal than the warranty terms offered by some dealers. Compare these offers carefully and investigate the claims of each provider before buying the warranties. Doing so will help ensure that you can have the car serviced locally and still have the warranty cover you need.
