Car Maintenance Timetable
If you want your car to still be going strong even after it has thousands of miles on the clock, then getting a Car Warranty is not the only thing you need to do. Making sure that you maintain a regular car maintenance schedule will be of vital importance if you intend to achieve such a goal. There are countless cars in garages all over the United Kingdom which are in need of extensive repairs, and some which are now completely irreparable, largely because they were just not properly taken care of. A car needs to be treated with much the same kind of care and attention with which we would treat an animal, a fellow human being or even ourselves.
Most car maintenance tasks are simple and can be taken care of at home, and making a note of the set times when these tasks will need to be done will help to keep your car in great shape. Examples of regular car maintenance tasks include oil and filter changes, spark plug changes, air filter checking and tyre rotation or replacement.
Oil and filter changes need to be carried out every 3,000 miles, with no exceptions. Those who frequently drive in very heavy traffic may need to do it even more often due to the stress such a scenario places on the car. Spark plugs should be changed a minimum of once every twelve months, or every 60,000 miles, with really high quality plugs. Air filters should be checked regularly and replaced every year, while tyres should be rotated twice a year and replaced every couple of years.
