Claiming Your Extended Auto Warranty Coverage
Many car owners make it a point to purchase extended auto warranty coverage but may not be sure how to go about making the best use of it. Specifically, they may not be sure how to claim the benefits when they need to. Depending on how the warranty is organised, the process may be automatic when you use authorised garages for maintenance and repairs. At other times, you may find if necessary to make a claim on the company in order to take advantage of the extended auto warranty coverage.
One way of getting the most out of your extended auto warranty coverage is to read through the terms of the warranty contract. This will provide you with some idea of how the warranty plan works, and what must be done to claim the benefits contained in the terms of the contract. If the text of the warranty seems a bit confusing, talk to the dealer or the company that issues the coverage. They should be able to help you understand what must be done to make sure that you are able to take advantage of the benefits in the warranty.
Keep in mind that while your warranty information may be on file with dealer approved garages, it may still be necessary to present a copy of your warranty plan when you take the car in for maintenance or repairs. For this reason, keeping a hard copy of the extended auto warranty coverage in the glove compartment is often a good idea.
