New electric cars coming in 2018

Despite sales still being dominated by traditional petrol and diesel cars, the market for electric cars is growing. With fuel prices fluctuating, emissions becoming a hot topic, and electric technology continuing to improve, the trend is leading towards electric cars. Here is our selection of the top electric cars debuting in 2018.

Audi E-Tron Quattro

Those seeking an electric car suitable for a family were faced with few options. But Audi will be making a big push into the sector with the Audi E-Tron Quattro. Aside from its distinctive looks, it also comes with an impressive electric engine with a range between charges of over 310 miles.

Jaguar I-Pace

As electric technology improves, the size of the car can also increase. Jaguar will be one of the first to take advantage with their fully electric SUV – the I-Pace. Sharing a similar (and no less ridiculed) name to the F-Pace, the four-wheel drive capability and acceleration from 0-60mph in 4 seconds means it’s not too sluggish either.

Mini E

Eventually all the popular models will have a fully electric version and the Mini E is one of the newest. Available at the end of 2018, the Mini E is set to have completely new battery technology compared to those already available.

Skoda Vision E

Skoda’s first electric car, the Vision E, is the pioneer in Skoda’s aim of having 1 in 4 vehicles they produce and sell being an electric car. The Vision E has five seats, making it suitable for families.

And a little further in the future…Porsche Mission E

You may be surprised to see a company such as Porsche on this list. But the future is electric and even the more prestigious sporty brands will be joining in. The Porsche Mission E will work with a combination of two electric motors and will go from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds. Unfortunately you will have to wait until 2020 for this beauty.
