New SuperSport hits the road
The new Vauxhaull Insignia VXR SuperSport is hoping to streak past the opposition in the speed stakes.
The 179mph car's makers claim it has more oomph and a higher top speed than any other UK production line vehicle costing less than £30,000 - and that includes the BMW 135i M Sport.
The SuperSport's mechanical breakdown boasts blue "Brembo" lettering on its front brake callipers, while it features a 2.8-litre V6 Turbo Ecotec engine, with a micro-alloy forged steel crank, a 60-degree cylinder angle and die-cast alloy sump - features which can be found in many a race engine.
The engine - capable of 325PS, has a single, twin-scroll turbocharger. There's even variable valve control for quick response on the throttle, and a nice 0-60mph turn in just 5.6 seconds.
The car comes with a lifetime warranty as standard.
