SsangYong Backs New Korando with Five Year Warranty
SsangYong is backing up the launch of its brand new Korando into the rapidly expanding crossover market by providing customers with an unlimited mileage and five-year Motor Warranty for the new vehicle. The five-year, limitless mileage motor warranty will also be applied to the 2012 specification Rodius MPV and SsangYong Rexton SUV.
"This warranty is designed to be totally transparent and give our customers complete peace of mind," says the chief executive officer of SsangYong Motor UK, Paul Williams. "With SsangYong, 'limitless' means just that: not the 60,000 maximum mileage condition that some brands impose on certain components in their small print." Williams is hoping that the brand will be able to achieve an increase in interest similar to that experienced by fellow South Korean car manufacturers Kia and Hyundai since the introduction of their seven and five year Motor Warranties respectively.
Covered by the motor warranty on the Korando are all major mechanical components, including wheel bearings, shock absorbers, steering joints, suspension joints and bushes, and even the audio system. Wearable components, including the likes of brake friction materials and clutch discs, which poor driving could reduce the lifespan of, are only covered for 12,000 miles or one year, with the paintwork and car battery covered for three.
"We believe the Korando's low purchase price, from just £16,995, great build quality, high specification and now a watertight warranty will be a compelling combination that anyone looking to purchase a new crossover will find difficult to ignore," Williams adds.
