Top 5 Celebrity Car Related Convictions

These celeb car-related convictions range from the bad to the downright mad! From driving under the influence to hitting prams, this bunch of crazy celebrity antics will make you glad to be an average Joe…

1. Paris Hilton

Thought notorious party girl Paris was all hair extensions and fake tan? Think again. Infamous Paris was sentenced to 45 day in jail when she was caught driving on a suspended license. At 70 mph in a 35 mph zone. In the dark. Without headlights on. Oops!

She nearly had a lucky escape when LA County Sheriff Lee Baca signed an order reassigning her to 40 days of home confinement with an electronic tag instead. Not exactly glamorous, but better than jail. However, a few days later, the Judge overruled the decision and sent her straight back to the slammer to carry out the full sentence.

During a post-jail interview on Larry King live, Paris said: "I've definitely matured and grown a lot from this experience - I could be a more responsible role model."

2. George Michael

Former Wham! frontman George Michael has always been a bit of a wild child. He's got a collection of convictions for everything from possession of cannabis to lewd conduct.

In August 2010 things got even worse when he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, a fine and a five year ban from driving.

And it seems the former pop star can't put his wild car escapades behind him as he was found tumbling out of his chauffeur-driven Range Rover on the M1 last year. There were no charges following the event. Let's hope he has less car related drama this year.

3. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is more famous for crashing cars than she is for her acting these days. And not without good reason, there has been a lot of them!

She's crashed her outside The Ivy, hit her car into a tree, hit a pram after running a red light and rammed into the back of an 18-wheeler. She was also a passenger in her Porsche when it hit into an actual person and just last year she was sued over an accident where her Porsche smashed into a truck.

For her crimes LiLo has been in both jail and rehab. Fingers crossed she has a better 2014!

4. Reece Witherspoon

Most people saw Reece Witherspoon as America's Sweetheart and was known for her roles in Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions, rather than for her slightly off the rails personal life. Not so long ago her husband was pulled over by a police officer for suspected drunk driving.

An inebriated Witherspoon refused to obey the officer's commands and alledgedly shouted 'Do you know who I am?!' at the officer. She managed to eventually get herself arrested for disorderly conduct, and to add insult to injury, it was all caught on camera and in no time at all, ruined her squeaky clean reputation.

5. George W Bush

Part politician, part celebrity, George W Bush had to address his previous DUI before the presidential elections.

Before his term as president of the United States of American George Bush struggled with alcohol abuse. This manifested itself in September 1976 when a 30-year-old George was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near his family's summer home in Kennebunkport.

He was fined $150 and had his Maine driver's licence briefly suspended. Ten years later he decided to give up alcohol.
