What To Do If You Lose Your Vehicle Warranty
Just about everyone has misplaced important documents at one time or another. If this should happen with your Vehicle Warranty, donīt despair. There is a quick and easy way to replace the document, allowing you to always have access to the terms and conditions of your warranty, and be able to use them when and as necessary.
One of the first things to do is telephone the dealer where the car was purchased. There is a good chance they will be able to replace your vehicle warranty once you provide them with key information such as your name, the make and model of the vehicle, and approximately when you made the purchase. In some cases, you can have the replacement copy of the vehicle warranty in hand in a matter of days. Donīt forget to ask for two copies, so you can put one away for safe keeping.
With new vehicles, you may also be able to obtain a copy of the vehicle warranty directly from the manufacturer. Call or email the company and see what they can do for you. In some cases, you may find that the manufacturer offers the text of warranties by email. If so, avail yourself of this service. You can easily print out a copy to keep in the glove compartment of the car, and also keep an electronic copy saved on disk or on your computer hard drive. This way, you always have a copy handy, even if you manage to lose the hard copy a second time.
