Does my vehicle need a valid MOT when purchasing a car warranty?

Yes. At the time of cover the vehicle must be taxed and legal for use on the public highway with a minimum of 3 months remaining on a valid MOT certificate unless you have declared it off road. Not having a valid MOT on your car would invalidate your car warranty. Choosing our Absolute Warranty cover means that an MOT test would be included in the cover.

What happens if my car fails an MOT?

If your vehicle fails it’s MOT then the mechanic must telephone our claims department to report the fault and check if it is covered under your warranty. However, we only cover for sudden mechanical or electrical failure of parts listed in your terms and conditions.

Should you wish to be specifically covered for failures on your MOT Test, our Absolute Warranty includes a Full Service an MOT Test and MOT Insurance
