Car Insurance Survey Discovers Links Between Make and Profession

Car Insurance Survey Discovers Links Between Make and Profession Image

A new survey, which has been conducted by motor insurance price comparison website Tiger, has discovered a link between certain models of vehicles and the professions of the people who tend to drive them.

In addition to discovering the likely profession of the drivers of certain kinds of car brands, the website also unearthed which cars are the most popular vehicles in the United Kingdom.  The vehicle that seems to be the most popular with motorists in the United Kingdom, at least according to the figures of those who are insured via the site, is the Vauxhall Corsa, with the Ford Fiesta and then Renault Clio in second and third place.  One in three customers who use the price comparison site drives one of those three models.

According to the research, Honda Civics were most likely to be driven by engineers, with hairdressers tending to favour the Ford Ka, investment bankers going for the Audi A5, and nurses preferring the feel of a Peugeot 307.  When it comes to the military, soldiers prefer to give orders to a Vauxhall Astra while mechanics tend to prefer being behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf.

There does not seem to be any link between professions and those who are more likely to take out an extended auto warranty, though insurance premiums can be massively affected by occupation, with policyholders having been warned to give their precise job description when applying for a new policy in order to make sure they are given the correct quote.
