Comparing Car Warranty Terms

Comparing Car Warranty Terms Image

Whether you need to select a new Car Warranty or find a warranty plan for a recently acquired used car, there are several criteria to keep in mind.  Ideally, you want a warranty that offers all the protection you need at a price you can afford.  With a little investigation, you can find the right plan and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are protected.

With a new car warranty, there is a good chance that the dealer will offer more than one plan.  With both basic and extended plans available, the task focuses on identifying just exactly what benefits are included in those extended plans versus the basic and less expensive offering.  Consider those additional benefits carefully and base your decision not only on what you think could happen but also how you would handle the cost if a major event covered in that extended plan should come to pass.  Unless you have plenty of financial reserves, going with the more comprehensive warranty plan is likely to be a good idea.

When buying a used car, some dealers offer limited car warranty plans and some do not.  If there is no plan available through the dealer, then look to independent providers to secure warranty coverage.  While there may be some limits based on the age, make and model of the car, there is a good chance you can find at least one or two plans that will work.  Try to balance cost with the need for reliable coverage and in the long run you will be a lot happier.
