Comparing Extended Warranty Plans

Comparing Extended Warranty Plans Image

Many dealers offer several different extended warranty plans that car owners can choose from when looking for the right level of coverage for a new car.  At times, it may be somewhat difficult to identify the differences between the plans offered, making it harder to choose the best option.  Fortunately, there is a way to compare the extended warranty plans and make an informed decision.

One approach is to go through the terms and conditions of each of the extended warranty plans offered by the dealer.  While somewhat labour intensive, this approach does help to shed light on little differences between the plans that may or may not be highlighted in their overview of the terms.  In addition, this approach makes it possible to ask some hard questions about the terms of each plan and get straight answers that could save you a lot of trouble later on.

Make note of the benefits that are included in all the extended warranty plans, as well as benefits that are unique to each plan.  This makes it possible to identify which one has everything you want, but is free of any other features that you really do not want.  You may find that there is very little difference in the cover provided by one plan as opposed to the benefits of another plan, but the price difference is significant.  If the less expensive plan does include what you need, then forego the more expensive plan and use the money for something else.  YouŽll still have adequate warranty coverage and enjoy the benefit of using your money to better advantage.
