Five Car Shows to Visit in 2015

If you like getting up close and personal with the cars of your dreams, you’ll likely be a big fan of car shows. Here is our top five pick for 2015, with options from Monaco to Birmingham and beyond. You’re sure to find something to suit your tastes (and wallet)…

Frankfurt Auto Show 2015

September 17th – September 27th

Occupying 12 buildings, the biannual Frankfurt Auto Show is the world’s largest car show. Ever since 1991 the show has been split each year, with even numbered years showing commercial cars in Hanover, and odd numbered years showing passenger cars in Frankfurt. The 2013 show (which like 2015 featured passenger cars) saw global debuts from the likes of Lexus, BMW and Ferrari. This year if you’re lucky enough to be visiting you can expect special limited edition and concept cars. And just think of the bratwurst and beer on offer too!

Tokyo Motor Show 2015

October 29th – November 6th

If Japanese cars set your heart alight like no other, you need to get saving for next year’s Tokyo Motor Show. With over 60 years of history, the Tokyo Motor Show is easily one of the most impressive technology focused shows. This show’s concept is Technology + Fantasy, and with plans to deliver exhilarating experiences to visitors it sounds promising. With the promise that “Your heart will race” it’s one worth keeping your eye on!

The London Classic Car Show

January 8th – January 11th

If you fancy sticking around these parts, head to the capital and kick off the New Year in a truly classy fashion. London features a thriving classic car dealer network and more classic owners than you can shake a stick at, but until now, no classic car show. Madness! Ran by the team who put together Top Gear Live and CarFest, it sounds like a winner that could eventually rival the top classic shows in Paris and Essen. The plan is to gather the finest classic cars the world has seen and bring them to life by way of a motoring runway. Which means fans will be able to not only see, but hear and even smell them! What more could you want?

Top Marques Monaco 2015

April 16th – April 19th

Perhaps the most prestigious motor show around, it offers VIP visitors the chance to test drive some of the world’s most impressive cars on the Formula 1 track. Well, would you expect anything less from Monaco really? This headline-hitting event often features special launches of limited edition vehicles and supercars. And the luxury doesn’t just stop at cars. The Grimaldi Forum’s Watch Pavilion will be playing host to exclusive timepieces, jewellery and other luxury products. And outside on the esplanade there will be a record number of superboats, some of which can be test driven. As if you needed any more excuses to book a flight to Monaco.

NEC Birmingham Performance Car Show 2015

January 8th – January 11th

If Monaco is out of your budget, consider Birmingham. It’ll cause a significantly smaller dent in your wallet, for one thing. And there is still luxury aplenty to be had. The Performance Car Show will be showcasing iconic luxury brands like Aston Martin, Porsche and Lamborghini. To get your heart racing, head into the UK’s biggest indoor circuit to watch driving displays, stunt drivers and wheel-to-wheel racing. If passive isn’t you, try out your own driving experience.
