Jaguar steals top spot from Lexus

Jaguar steals top spot from Lexus Image

Jaguar has finished first in the JD Power and Associates/What Car? 2012 UK Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study, knocking Lexus off the top spot.

It is the first time in 11 years that the Japanese auto maker has not come top of the pile, instead dropping to share second place with Skoda.

The study - which is based on the evaluations of around 18,000 individuals in the UK after an average of two years of ownership - includes each aspect of vehicle ownership.

It rates everything from performance, design and comfort to quality, reliability and the cost of ownership. Economy and dealer service satisfaction are also considered.

Chevrolet was bottom of the table in 27th position, with dealer service proving one of its better areas, while Vauxhall finished in second to last place.

The Matiz was the only Chevrolet model to be included in this year's survey because the Spark and Cruze were too new to qualify.
