Top 5 Low Emission Vehicles

Drivers today are more eco-conscious than ever before. The effect we have on our environment is now firmly in our minds, thanks to the efforts of David Attenborough and climate activists across the globe. So when it comes to our cars, we want something that won’t ruin the environment.

The other benefit is financial. A car with a smaller carbon footprint generally means less trips to the pump and less money to the taxman. So there are benefits of driving a low emission car. The question is, which to go for? Here is our top five.

1. BMW i3

Obviously, we would all like to be driving the stunning BMW i8 – a genuine game changer when it comes to hybrid vehicles. But more in our price range is the BMW i3. And it is a fantastic car to drive too. A lot of thought has gone in to almost every aspect of this model. From the smart interior where comfort and convenience come together beautifully. To the subtly futuristic feel of the exterior design. Plus, you can tell people you drive a BMW, and leave out the hybrid part if you so desire!

2. Toyota Prius

We’ve come a long way since the first Prius models hit the road. Back then, they were a bit of a joke, driven only by eco-warriors who care more about status than the car they drive. But the Prius has always been one of the best cars on the road, and not just because of its efficient hybrid engine. Big and spacious inside, you will find the Prius to be one of the most comfortable drives on the road. The money you save driving it is another reason to forget the naysayers and say yes to this smart hybrid.

3. Jaguar I-Pace

It seems every car company is now desperate to take advantage of the hybrid car market, and Jaguar are no exception. Despite its awkward name, the Jaguar I-Pace is a beautiful combination of classic British style with modern hybrid technology. Voted European Car of the Year in 2019, you get performance reminiscent of a petrol engine car, sleek aerodynamic design, and the knowledge that you have lessened your carbon footprint (as well as your bank balance as these cars are not cheap!).

4. Nissan Leaf

Japanese car companies were some of the first to truly embrace hybrid and electric technology, and so their cars have a bit of a head-start over other car companies. The Nissan Leaf is one of the most refined fully-electric models on the market, which is shown in it being the best-selling electric car in Europe in 2018. Fully electric means zero emissions – perfect!

5. Tesla Model S

The dream of many electric car driving wannabes is to own a Tesla. Few companies have done as much to make green technology cool. The Tesla Model S combines all the latest smart technologies into a package that feels truly revolutionary. This car has been built with electric in mind, rather than retrofitted to go green and it shows. The connoisseur’s electric vehicle.
