When Your Auto Warranty Expires

When Your Auto Warranty Expires Image

An auto warranty can expire for several reasons.  The most common ones have to do with non-payment of the premiums, although it is also possible that a vehicle will no longer meet the criteria set by the warranty provider, prompting the end of any ability to renew the warranty when it expires.  Should this happen, do not automatically assume you have to do without some sort of auto warranty from now on.  The fact is that independent providers may have a plan that is right for your needs.

A number of companies now provide auto warranty plans that are designed for vehicles that no longer qualify for dealer or manufacturer warranties.  The target audience is people who purchase good quality used cars but do not care for the plan offered through a dealership, or people who have owned a car long enough that the manufacturer will no longer extend a warranty, owing to the amount of mileage on the engine.  With either scenario, these independent providers take up where others leave off, allowing you to enjoy the peace of mind of being covered for a few more years.

If your auto warranty is about to expire and there is no possibility of renewing the plan, check into these alternative options.  You may find a provider that offers a plan very similar to your own, while still within your budget.  Compare a few different plans to make sure you get the best deal.  Doing so will allow you to rest a little easier, confident that you have protection from any event covered in the terms of the warranty agreement.
