Why You Need an Extended Car Warranty

Why You Need an Extended Car Warranty Image

There are a lot of reasons to buy an extended Car Warranty.  Some have to do with securing some additional protection for your car should a mechanical failure occur. Others have to do with the fact that you plan on driving your car for a few extra years, rather than replacing it right after you finally settle the car loan.  The latter reason is particularly important, since the decision to not trade in for a newer model is often all about saving some money.

Maintaining an extended car warranty just makes sense if you plan on hanging onto your car for a few more years.  Thanks to the effects of the recession, many people came out of the experience with a slightly different perception to managing money and making purchases.   Suddenly, the need to have a new car every four or five years wasn't quite so intense.  In fact, people are finding that with proper maintenance and care, there is nothing wrong with driving the same vehicle for eight or ten years, and sometimes even longer.

If your goal is to save money, then see that extended car warranty as an investment which will pay off over time.  The terms will prompt you to not forego regular maintenance, which means there is less potential for mechanical components to sustain unnecessary wear and tear.  As a bonus, your fuel economy will also remain higher, which in turn will help to reduce operational expenses and allow you to keep more money in your own pocket.
